Slippery shoes, February 23, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Merrell Mens Refuge Core Athletic Shoes (Apparel) I am surprised when i first wore the shoes i found them very slippery especially on wet grounds. I thought they are made for all use!!!! Will they have better grip later on ??
Great shoe but I encountered a problem, August 5, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Merrell Mens Refuge Core Athletic Shoes (Apparel) This is the second pair of these shoes that I have owned and have had this pair a couple of months. First, they are great shoes for hiking and general walking around town. Second, on a long hike a week or so ago I noticed that the black material around the toes has separated from the shoes. It did this on both shoes and really surprised me. I checked the other pair i have and they are fine. I would give these 5 stars if not for this because i really like how comfortable these are. I will be contacting Merrell to see what they recommend.

A sales person convinced me to try a pair of Merrell Refuge Core shoes. I've been wearing them almost daily for almost a year. They have held up well. They are the most comfortable shoes I've worn. They give my feet good support. They give good traction both on and off of the pavement. These shoes have made me a Merrell fan for life.
